From a drink to a beauty ingredient, lemon has lots of uses. I and my husband consume about half kg of lemons per week. That is a lot! Do you want to know why? Then dig in.
Lemonade is our favorite drink, especially in summers. After a gym workout, lemonade gives a surge of energy and hydration. I use 1.5 lemons with 1.5 tbsp of honey and one tsp salt (preferably sea salt).
When you are throwing your money away to purchase various scrubs I choose mixing one tsp baking soda to one tbsp lemon and applying on face. My skin brightens and dead skin says bye. Once a week is more than sufficient.
I rub a small piece of lemon on my underarms and bid adieu to body odour for next 24 hours!! If you drink a lot of caffeine, alcohol or sweat a lot, you might like to apply lemon twice. Alcohol and caffeine are considered as poison by our body so body sweats to remove them. Sweating can result in an increased BO.
I mix one lemon in two eggs and one tbsp honey. This is my egg shampoo. Lemon and honey masks the pungent smell. To top it up I add peppermint or lavender essential oil too. Being acidic in nature lemon makes my hair strong and shiny.
There are days when homemade stuff just does not taste as good. Try adding a splash of lemon. You might just boost your immunity too.
Lemons have a high dose of vitamin C. Whenever I am catching cough and cold too easily I increase lemonade quantity. Two lemons become part of my lemonade refresher.
Believe it or not, vitamin C is good for skin too. Within one week of lemon intake my complexion changes. My facial skin brightens and smoothens. Try it if you wanted a firm and infection free skin. Improvements in eczema prone skin have been observed by many.
Apply lemon-juice on hair strands and stand under the sun for half an hour. Repeated exposure can give you nice golden highlights on your hair.
Mix honey and lemon-juice. Use it as a spot treatment on pimples. It reduces swelling overnight. Using this all over face gives an even breakout free glowing skin.
Baking soda and lemon-juice can clean many household items which are covered with oily grime. I use it to clean my copper pot. Similarly, it can clean choked kitchen drain as well.
Lemon is amazing. Share the ways you are using it.
